Bulgari's new boutique at Zurich Airport spans 130 square meters, with its design drawing inspiration from the architectural art and cultural essence of ancient Rome. Since its founding in 1884, Bulgari has consistently leaned on Rome's historical heritage for creativity, exploring the aesthetics of sunlight, marble, and grand architecture.
In this new boutique’s design, the brand not only pays tribute to Rome’s architectural treasures but also skillfully weaves together antiquity and modernity, tradition and innovation—crafting a unique atmosphere where fashion intersects with history.
This boutique’s design is essentially a visual journey through Rome’s 2,700-year history. It features the iconic royal green Pelmet marble, a cornerstone of the brand’s identity. This green marble adorns the jewellery display cabinets, wall trims, and floor accents, echoing ancient Rome’s historical significance while honoring the vibrant color palette of Bulgari’s jewellery.
In Bulgari’s world, green is more than a hue—it symbolizes victory and honor, and this meaning is even etched into the metal fixtures of the jewellery display cabinets. The iconic octagonal star at the boutique’s entrance, borrowed from Bulgari’s flagship store on Rome’s via Condotti, stands for balance, harmony, and cosmic order. This symbol of “Roma Caput Mundi” (all roads lead to Rome) embodies the brand’s global influence and deep historical roots.

Subtle engravings of this star decorate the handles of the jewellery display cabinets, tying the entrance’s symbolism to every corner of the space.
Upon stepping inside, customers are immediately captivated by designs steeped in history. Bulgari has incorporated countertop designs inspired by cushion cuts—details that have featured in the brand’s jewellery since the 1960s, marking its innovation and style. These countertops are crafted from Travertino Navona, a signature Roman stone, and their rough-hewn texture contrasts beautifully with the smooth glass of the adjacent
jewellery display cabinet, fusing ancient Roman tradition with modern design edginess.
Complementing this, the orange “Roman Light” lining inside each
jewellery display cabinet enhances the space’s radiant, timeless ambiance, making the showcased pieces glow with the same luster as Rome itself.
